Yestarday H-Farm Ventures, the main Italian incubator for digital startups, announced that they are now member of the Global Accelerator Network (GAN), an invitation-only alliance founded by TechStars and a key member of the White House’s Startup America Initiative.
As the first GAN accelerator in Italy, H-FARM enters into a network that includes many of the leading innovative startup accelerators from around the world. Created over two years ago, the Global Accelerator Network already has some very impressive numbers: 51 accelerators (including TechStars, Hub ventures, Spring Board, Startup Bootcamp), in 63 cities, from 6 continents, with over 2.461 jobs generated, $420M raised in financing, $463K of funding per company.
“It is fundamental for the Italian eco-system to be present on an International level to guarantee visibility of investors and industry leaders – said to Startupbusiness Timothy O’Connell , H-Farm partner which is joining the international Advisory board of GAN – Without these types of opportunities, Italian start-ups will be severely limited in terms of growth and market expansion.”
“Being members of the Global Accelerator Network will help H-FARM increase the synergy and visibility with other global players. The GAN community will be a vital resource for the start-ups participating in H-CAMP, our new acceleration program, as well as, an opportunity for the entire Italian startup community to gain greater visibility and attention outside of Italy”.
“We are very excited to welcome H-FARM in the Global Accelerator Network and have Timothy join our Advisory Board. H-FARM is a proven innovator and leader amongst European and global accelerators.” – Says Patrick Riley- “The strength of their current and new programs, mentor relationships, alumni company track record and investment portfolio are calculable example of the power of the short-term, mentorship-driven, entrepreneur-first model the Global Accelerator Network advocates. We are honored to welcome them to the GAN and look forward to a very fruitful partnership.”
H-FARM and the Global Accelerator Network began collaborating together in 2012 while co-hosting the Global Accelerator Meeting. During this exclusive event, 40 of the leading global accelerators met in Venice for 2 days to share experiences and to discuss the future of this young industry. This successful collaboration allowed both partners the opportunity to work together, share common goals and establish a stronger relationship.
