Up Day enters Restworld’s capital

Up Day, the first subsidiary of the Up Group to become a benefit company, announces that it has signed a strategic partnership with Restworld, a start-up specialising in the recruitment of personnel for the ho.re.ca. sector.

Up Day, which operates in the area of business and personal services, including meal vouchers and corporate welfare plans, recently acquired a 5% stake in Restworld, which uses artificial intelligence models to optimise the matching process between employers and candidates in the restaurant industry, thereby reducing costs and improving the effectiveness of recruitment.

The value of the transaction with which the Italian branch of the French group enters the start-up’s corporate structure is 250,000 euros, thus participating in the financing round launched by Restworld, which aims to raise one million euros within the next few months with a post-money valuation of 5 million euros.

Marc Buisson, president and CEO of Up Day, says in a note: “Their innovation, positive reputation and being a certified benefit company fit perfectly with our values and desire to activate a virtuous circle of services for all our stakeholders.”

Restworld, already supports 1200 restaurants, facilitating the recruitment of over 2000 professionals in the sector. With the support of Up Day, Restworld will be able to further accelerate the development of its platform, aiming to reach 3,000 restaurants by 2025.

Luca Lotterio, CEO of Restworld, says: ‘The support of Up Day not only confirms the validity of our approach but also provides us with additional expertise to expand our operations in Italy and, one day, abroad, and of course Restworld keeps its governance strong.

“With this partnership between Up Day and Restworld, we increase what we try to do to generate positive impact. The startup with its services focused on ho.re.ca., a sector in which we have a large number of members in our network, will operate with added value, offering concrete help to better manage day-to-day operations, in addition to the fact that it could offer a future proposal for collaboration with the Group’s companies located in different countries,” emphasises Mariacristina Bertolini, pictured with Buisson, vice president, DG Up Day and Euromed area director for the Up Group.
