Unobravo, CDP VC out and Northzone and H14 enter

Unobravo, the scaleup that offers the online psychology service, announces that it has concluded an extraordinary transaction on the capital, strengthening the corporate structure.

The transaction translates into an exit for some early investors, including CDP Venture Capital which, in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, believed in and invested in the startup that was taking its first steps at the time and, at the same time, two new investors, Northzone and H14, entered this operation co-led by Insight Partners and Northzone. The transaction is aimed at consolidating the company, also in view of international growth plans.

The evolution of the corporate structure is part of a natural dynamic of Unobravo’s growth path, which today has over 220 people in the company, 5,000 psychologists and psychotherapists and over 160,000 patients supported in their mental well-being journey just 4 years after its foundation in 2019. Unobravo focuses its attention on the satisfaction of the therapy experience and on the concrete results in terms of the patient’s health, thus leading to much higher levels of retention and referrals than the European average of psychology services.

Unobravo and CDP VC prefer not to disclose the value of the operation, but it is the evolution of previous rounds that have already seen the entry of international funds and the exit of early investors, as was the case with SocialFare Seed, which took place in July 2022, for a total value of 17 million euros.

“Unobravo has changed a lot in recent years, from a small startup to a solid psychology company that is a leader in Italy and with a strong international vocation. A path of development and awareness that has led us to an increasingly broad vision on a global scale, always remaining faithful to our mission: to offer accessible and excellent psychological support,” says Danila De Stefano, CEO and founder of Unobravo in a note . I am very happy to welcome Northzone and H14 to the Unobravo family, the new funds come into the company to support us on our path of growth and consolidation. I would like to thank Insight Partners, who have been and continue to be our best ally: aligned with our mission and always very supportive.”

International Expansion

Northzone and H14, together with Insight Partners which has already invested in the company in 2022, will be part of an important new chapter for Unobravo, oriented towards innovation, strengthening and creating new technologies for therapeutic support, clinical research and entry into new European markets to be added to the Spanish one where the scaleup has already been active since last September.

“The new members immediately fell in love with our mission. The proximity to the themes of psychology and social impact was one of the main motivations that guided the choice. In the case of Unobravo, the economic value is only a consequence of the human value that we generate in the lives of our patients, therapists, employees and partners, through the offer of an excellent and accessible psychological service,” adds De Stefano. Unobravo is not just a company but a real movement: those who know and approach these issues understand that fighting the stigma surrounding mental health has a gigantic impact on the lives of all of us. Those who work with Unobravo, those who choose Unobravo, are part of this ecosystem of values that will become more and more extensive, because it is right and has been missing for too long.”

Through the Italia Venture II – Fondo Imprese Sud fund, CDP Venture Capital has selected Unobravo since its inception, in 2020, as part of the ‘Seed for the South’ program dedicated to the growth of young innovative companies in the seed and preseed phases, betting on the talent and vision of Danila De Stefano and the rest of the team. Unobravo proposed a new model of long-distance psychological support initially dedicated to Italian expats abroad and which, in a short time, has expanded its range of action to become a point of reference on the Italian market for this type of service.

“This transaction represents an extraordinary moment of growth for Unobravo, which in just a few years has contributed to eliminating the stigma of psychological support, making mental health more accessible and personalized for over 160,000 patients and training a clinical team of over 5,000 professionals,” comments Agostino Scornajenchi, CEO and General Manager of CDP Venture Capital. As CDP Venture Capital, we immediately believed in the potential of Danila De Stefano’s proposal, financially supporting the growth of the platform from the early stages of launch. Today our role as an investor ends, we are very pleased to enhance this success story born in the South and to see a pool of national and international shareholders join the corporate structure of Unobravo with which to face the new great challenges that await it”.
