Shopify new appointments for EMEA

Shopify announces changes to the leadership of the EMEA team. Emilie Benoit-Vernay, Benjamin Lang and Lara Rosquët will take on new roles, with the aim of driving growth across the region and better supporting its merchants, partners and innovative product development. Shopify continues to invest in high-profile leadership to drive future growth plans in EMEA, a region that generated over $1.2 billion in revenues in 2023 and accounts for 27% of Shopify’s merchant base.

Emilie Benoit-Vernay, former head of partnership southern Europe, now takes on the role of director of partnerships for EMEA. He will be responsible for driving and growing Shopify’s partner ecosystem in EMEA markets, overseeing teams working with technology and product partners. Prior to joining Shopify, Emilie held a number of leadership roles in business development, supporting the international expansion of companies in the US, APAC, and Europe.

Benjamin Lang

Joining Shopify in 2022, Benjamin Lang was head of northern Europe partnerships and now takes on a broader oversight role for Northern Europe and DACH. He will be responsible for building the Shopify ecosystem in these markets, helping partners accelerate the opportunities offered to more brands and help them approach the next era of commerce. Benjamin joined Shopify from payment provider Mollie, where he was country manager for France, and spent 13 years as an elite rower, representing France at the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016. Lara Rosquët becomes Shopify’s new country lead for France, with responsibility for expanding market growth, growing the partner ecosystem, and driving team culture. Lara joined Shopify in 2016 and has since held a number of roles within the company, most recently as head of EMEA new channel partnership & DACH partnership. From Paris, Lara previously held several positions in e-commerce and consulting firms, including Rocket Internet, Amazon, and Kurt Salmon (part of Accenture Strategy).

Emilie Benoit-Vernay said in a statement: “EMEA is critical to Shopify’s ambitions to make commerce better for everyone, and I’m excited about the challenge of taking on a role that will enable our merchants and partners in the region to continue to grow. The partnership channel is a key component of Shopify’s expansion.” Benjamin Lang comments: “We want to help our partners build their business and support their customers every step of the way, regardless of scale or complexity. I am confident that this leadership team is well-positioned to not only support Shopify’s success, but more importantly to accompany our merchants and partners.” Lara Rosquët adds: “France is an extremely dynamic market and our goal is to enable entrepreneurs to innovate and focus on their customers. The work of our merchants – businesses of all sizes in every corner of the country – is truly inspiring, and I believe Shopify can help elevate their success like no other organization can.”
