Sella Venture Partners, the asset management company of the Sella Group, has recently launched its second Italian Fund of Funds, operating exclusively on international markets and dedicated to investments in venture capital funds. Sella Venture Partners Fund of Funds II aims to raise €100 million, to be invested in over 20 of the leading European and American funds operating in the technology and life science sectors through operations in the primary and secondary markets. The new Sella Venture Partners fund invests in top-tier funds through a widespread network present both in Europe and in the United States developed thanks to the Sella Group’s positioning in innovation, thus enabling private and institutional entities to invest in venture capital funds in the most promising markets, with a high return potential typical of technology sectors, and at the same time reducing market risk through careful portfolio diversification.
Expanding the experience of the first fund
In 2020, Sella Venture Partners launched its first fund, the Sella Venture Partners Fund of Funds I, also through placement agreements with the Group’s two banks, Banca Sella and Banca Patrimoni Sella & C., with funding of approximately €60 million. The fund has seen the participation of both institutional investors and individual prominent entrepreneurs in the domestic market. The investment phase is nearing completion with a total of 24 transactions carried out so far in Europe, the United States and China and a Net Asset Value on cost already positive less than three years after the start of operations. “With Sella Venture Partners Fund of Funds II, we are continuing the path we started with our first fund of funds launched four years ago,” said Grazia Borri, CEO of Sella Venture Partners, in a statement. Today, thanks to this new initiative, institutional and private investors can access funds of recognized quality in international venture capital, a sector that has recorded positive performance and supports companies that create and develop new technologies with the aim of generating exponential and sustainable growth in the long term”.
