Pelomatto raises 430,000 euro from business angels

Pelomatto, the startup created by Startup Studio Mamazen that offers a home grooming service for four-legged friends and had already started its territorial expansion, announces that it has closed a 430,000 euro round one year after its launch on the market, testifying to the great potential of the business related to animal care, and to the professionalism demonstrated over time by founders William Selmo and Ferdinando Volpe together with the entire staff, which now numbers 17 people.

The startup is recording a turnover growth of +30% month on month and has obtained the interest of business angels of the calibre of Daniele Bruttini, Vincent Murphy and Antonella Sergio. The company thus confirms the forecasts made by the Startup Studio Mamazen and continues its growth, aiming to exceed 25,000 appointments and reach EUR 1.5 million in turnover by the end of 2025. Not only that, in view of these aspirations Pelomatto wants to expand its team to 90 groomers and bring its services to 15 other cities, in addition to the current Milan, Bergamo, Alessandria, Cuneo, Monza and the recent opening in Turin.

“Ferdinando Volpe and I have always had high ambitions, and, thanks to the support of Mamazen, we are positively convinced that we can achieve the goals we have set ourselves,” William Selmo says in a note. “We will continue to work to expand our network and our business, to give all pet owners a quality, dynamic and efficient service, capable of satisfying everyone’s needs with sensitivity towards the animal and with increasingly customised and accurate solutions.

“As a Startup Studio, we at Mamazen carried out an initial market analysis and conducted numerous tests, pre-validating the product in order to assess customer needs in a timely manner, and this is precisely why we chose to launch the project,” adds Farhad Alessandro Mohammadi, CEO and founder of Mamazen. “If we consider the pet care sector, the latest data is increasingly encouraging. In fact, according to the latest Coop report, the number of pets in Italy has risen to 65 million, and pet owners are experiencing an increasingly humanised relationship with them. This indicates a growing trend and we are confident that Pelomatto’s professionals can continue to grow and gain further investment’.
