Innovation and entrepreneurship as a culture, as an element that pervades every sector and activity. Even if you don’t want to become an entrepreneur or make a start-up, it is important to know what opportunities there are and what the trends are, because such knowledge is also important if you are looking for a job and not only if you want to start your own company.
NAStartup, the community dedicated to innovation based in Naples, has realised this. It acts as a laboratory not only to support start-ups but also to foster a more widespread culture of entrepreneurship. NAStartup has been weaving, connecting and expanding its network of talents and opportunities for over ten years. Over the past year in particular, the programme of events has set itself the goal of promoting entrepreneurial culture and growing the economy of start-ups and scaleups, involving an increasingly broad audience.
After a six-month cycle dedicated to neighbourhood workshops for social recovery and social innovation, NAStartup has broadened its focus to include universities and art schools in Naples. UpStudio, the latest format devised by Antonio Prigiobbo, founder of NAStartup (and author for Startupbusiness) and his team (pictured), has united technological and entrepreneurial innovation with the creative world, promoting companies oriented towards international markets and venture capital.
The stages of the free monthly events involved prestigious institutions such as the School of History-Economics, the School of Film and the School of Fashion, culminating in December with an event at the Italian School of Comix, a true hothouse of talent for publishing, video games and animated films.
Due to numerous requests from compulsory schools and teachers, who are increasingly involved and interested in innovation topics, the January 2025 appointment will be dedicated to School of Schools, in collaboration with a teacher training and refresher institute.
The last 2024 event was attended by professionals and talents from all over Europe such as, for example, Antonio Marfuggi, director of digital platform and senior digital marketing manager who lives and works in London and illustrated the opportunities of the global video game market; Gustavo Troisi, manager operating in Milan and presenting corporate prospects for young talents. There was also a rich representation of Neapolitan talent, including journalist and writer Pietro Treccagnoli, serial startupper Massimo Morgante (CMO of startup Innereo), new editor Sabrina Di Dato (Insides Magazine) and procedural technical artist Alberto Panico.
Start-ups that emerged during the events include: Adriano Giordano and Vittorio Stile, with a project combining NFT and NFC tags to create unique experiences through objects such as pins, and Claudio Morelli’s collective with the innovative live journalism format Poster #Napoli.
NAStartup organises free monthly events that bring together thousands of innovation enthusiasts, professionals and entrepreneurs across Europe. Each event is an opportunity to network, develop new ideas and promote collaboration between talents and practitioners, acting as an accelerator for the non-profit startup ecosystem that has been organising regular events for years to support the birth and growth of innovations and talents.
NAStartup activities are free of charge thanks to the support of entrepreneurs and companies that believe in the mission of open innovation. Project partners include: Santa Chiara Boutique Hotel, Sartoria DA Napoli, Biancamore, DarioCrisciShoes, LauroIt, CreazionedImpresaIt, Pandantit, Piquattro Digital, Bouche & Partners, and professionals such as photographer Claudio Cimmelli and FeliX, which operates in the field of IT consulting.
