It is called Beautiful Work Week, takes place for the first time in Italy in Milan at the Luiss Hub between 13 and 16 November and is an expression of the international event, consisting of three coordinated events, dedicated to the dissemination of regenerative labour, an approach proposed by John Fullerton, former Wall Street banker and founder of the Capital Institute, who in 2015 published the essay ‘Regenerative Capitalism: How Universal Principles and Patterns Will Shape Our New Economy’, and which promotes circular processes and integrated systems aimed at regenerating ecosystems, enhancing social welfare and creating lasting economic value, in harmony with natural cycles based on the thought that Fullerton himself summarises as follows: ‘I believe that there is a much broader path to prosperity, both material and certainly non-material, than we had imagined.
Organised by Cocoon Pro, with the partnership of Fondazione Brodolini, Apropos, Fattor Comune, and Startupbusiness as media partner, BWW24 offers a unique opportunity to explore ideas, techniques and visions oriented towards the future of work.
Stelio Verzera, one of the founding members of Cocoon Pro says: “The #BWW24 is a space to focus on what makes work beautiful, what makes it the ultimate expression of who we are, and not just a way of extracting value at the expense of other systems.”
The initiative is spread over four days and three coordinated events: on 13 November is the Opening Day dedicated to the regenerative economy, on the 14th is the Global Serious Game Fest, while the 15th and 16th are dedicated to the EODF (European Organisation Design Forum) Conference.
Wednesday 13 will be enriched by talks and networking spaces dedicated to exploring how regenerative practices can be applied in our lives and organisations. Speakers on the day include: Paolo Romano regional councillor for Lombardy, Adriana Versino president of Vodafone Foundation and Symbiosis ambassador, Pietro Catania partner Alef Consulting and professor of Organisation HRM at Bicocca University, Federica Marano consultant on innovation and sustainability at ELIS Innovation Lab.
On Thursday 14, the Global Serious Games Fest presents itself as the world’s first simultaneous event dedicated to Serious Games with hands-on workshops demonstrating how these tools can empower human systems, breaking down communication barriers and enabling collaboration and co-creation.
On Friday 15 and Saturday 16 they host the European Organisation Design Forum (EODF) for their annual conference and welcome professionals and experts from all over the world who will discuss the theme ‘Advancing Organisation Design – Back to our Roots’.
Beautiful Work Week 2024 is a unique rendezvous for entrepreneurs, innovators and professionals committed to actively improving social and environmental conditions. The objective is to share with institutions, profit and non-profit organisations, practitioners, best practices and success stories related to an approach that can make a difference in the years to come, in Italy and worldwide, changing perspectives, priorities, and mindset.
