K-Fans, the sensor jersey from K-Sport for amateur footballers

K-Sport, a company committed to technological innovation applied to the world of sport, presents K-Fans, the sensor jersey dedicated to and for non-professionals, in particular, but not limited to, girls and boys from youth teams and amateur footballers. An app is attached to the jersey: anyone who wants to can share their data in a worldwide database that will then be available to scouts, such as prosecutors.

K-Fans is an integrated platform that allows users to immerse themselves in the world of sport in an interactive and personalised way. Using state-of-the-art technology, K-Fans provides access to real-time statistics, exclusive content and innovative features.

One of the most innovative aspects of K-Fans is the ability to personalise the user experience. The platform uses intelligent algorithms to analyse preferences and provide tailor-made content, from typical training videos to technical performance analyses. Furthermore, thanks to integration with the latest wearable devices, one can monitor one’s personal sports performance, inspired directly by professionals.

“Thanks to K-Fans young boys and girls, amateur athletes will be able to use cutting-edge technology that is used by professionals,” explains Alberto Guidotti, CEO of K-Sport, in a note. “In this way, technology becomes truly inclusive. We want to help cultivate the desires of many promising youngsters, because after all, every boy or girl must run with hope in their hearts and big dreams in their heads. Sensors placed on the jersey are able to monitor, among other things, how many accelerations have been performed, the intensity, the speed, effectively providing a real-time identity card of the athlete. We also want to expand by exploring other sports besides football: we are working, for example, on a sensor jersey for cyclists, and we have an ambitious goal, that of using our sensors for a space suit’.

“K-Fans represents a further step forward in the evolution of K-Sport,” recalls Mirko Marcolini, founder and general manager of K-Sport. “On the threshold of the company’s 20th anniversary, which will mark next year, we are presenting this important development that brings our cutting-edge technology to the general public. Thanks to our relentless research work and our ability to anticipate the challenges posed by a market, that of wearable technologies, in rapid and constant evolution, we have been able to establish ourselves more and more and acquire customers at an international level. K-Fans represents for us not a point of arrival, but one of the steps accompanying K-Sport’s growth”.

The launch of K-Fans represents the latest chapter in the story of K-Sport, an innovative company set up to change the landscape of sports training through technological innovation. Founded in 2010, K-Sport began its journey with the world’s first patent for an advanced, artificial intelligence-based match analysis system. Since then, the company has achieved major milestones, working with over 500 teams worldwide, including top Serie A clubs, Premier League and national teams. Prestigious clients include clubs such as Napoli, Atalanta, Fiorentina as well as national teams such as Argentina who have adopted K-Sport systems to optimise training and prevent injuries. There are over 10,000 athletes in the K-Sport database, including two world football icons, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

K-Sport’s approach is based on a combination of science, technology and passion. The tools developed by the company enable real-time monitoring of parameters such as speed, distance travelled, acceleration and deceleration, providing coaches with reliable data to make strategic decisions. K-sport in 2024 closed a EUR 5 million Series A round. Investing in the sport-tech was the Italian Rialto Venture Fund I EuVECA, specialising in technology start-ups related to digital transformation.

The growth of tech clothing

In addition to the K-Fans platform and performance analysis systems, K-Sport distinguishes itself by creating a line of technological sportswear that combines style and functionality. This innovative sector offers garments designed to monitor and improve athletic performance. Sensors built into the clothing collect biometric data in real time, allowing users to get immediate feedback on their physical activity. Tech apparel represents a booming slice of the global market. It is estimated that the wearable devices sector, of which smart clothing is a significant part, will grow by 12% annually until 2025. Globally, the sports wearable sector, including garments with advanced functionality, is valued at over $20 billion and is expected to continue to grow exponentially.

K-Fans also features a rewards programme based on the accumulation of K-Coins, which can be obtained through training and challenges in the app. K-Coins allow you to redeem rewards such as VIP tickets, official jerseys and exclusive club experiences, divided into three categories (bronze, silver and gold) depending on your membership level. Points are reset at the end of the season, but K-Coins remain valid. In addition, packages with access to premium features and tools for monitoring sports performance are available.
