Italian EnergyTech, international conference on the future of energy

The first edition of the Italian EnergyTech Conference was created with the aim of bringing together the main stakeholders in the field of energy innovation and strengthening Italy’s leadership in this sector.

Organised by Verdian Power, a company part of Nuveen, one of the world’s leading infrastructure funds with $1.2 trillion in assets under management, and Green Horse Advisory, one of Italy’s leading energy transition consultancies, the conference has an international scope, is held entirely in English, and aims to become a milestone in the renewable energy sector in Italy. Verdian Power and Green Horse Advisory, both active in the sector, one on the investor side and the other on the consultancy side, share a long history of collaboration and have thus decided to build a network of energy-tech companies, considering Italy’s promising market potential, strategic location and innovative spirit. Italy is the EU’s third largest economy and second largest manufacturing nation. In addition, Italy is home to many prestigious universities and research institutes that focus on cleantech innovation.

The conference will feature keynote speeches by leading industry figures and two panel discussions dedicated to the most significant topics in the energy sector. The event will conclude with a pitch session by six start-ups selected among the most innovative companies working on cutting-edge technologies that are reshaping the Italian energy landscape, including energy storage solutions, agri-voltaics, green hydrogen, nuclear energy and smart grid innovations.

In addition to the chance to present projects to potential leading financial and industrial partners in the energy sector, selected start-ups will have the opportunity to obtain guidance from a panel of expert mentors, to collaborate with Verdian Power Group on the realisation of a proof of concept, and to receive pro bono legal, financial and engineering support from Green Horse Advisory. To participate in the event, the startup must be an established company with at least two founders working full-time, the project must be focused on the Italian market, but both national and international startups are welcome.

Carlo Montella (pictured), managing partner of Green Horse Legal Advisory, says: ‘The Italian renewable energy market is one of the largest in Europe. Investors are increasingly integrating sustainability into their business strategies and companies are driving the demand for sustainable products and services, constantly looking for cleantech solutions to improve their operations. With the Italian EnergyTech Conference we intend to create a hub for successful networking for partnerships and knowledge exchange in the energy innovation space”.

At this event in Italy, we want to support those innovative projects that help us in this global effort to combat climate change and also highlight the importance of renewables in this country’.
