Italian Artisan buys Ad Hoc Atelier

Italian Artisan, a platform that supports the fashion industry made in Italy, announces that it has acquired the company Ad Hoc Atelier specialized in the development of customized and handcrafted fashion products for the luxury sector. This strategic merger, completed with the support of Primo Ventures, and whose value has not been disclosed, marks a significant evolution for Italian Artisan, which can now count on an even broader range of services, a close-knit management team and determined to pursue a significant expansion of the customer base. The transaction integrates Lorenzo Colucci, chief marketing officer, and Giovanni Friggi, chief revenue officer, into the executive team. The union between Italian Artisan and Ad Hoc Atelier strengthens their presence in the high quality fashion market, guaranteeing ethical and excellent productions. The strategic operation also aims to expand the network of affiliated artisans with particular attention to enhancing the production chains of southern Italy, with the aim of exceeding one thousand producers available by the end of 2024. In continuity with this merger, Italian Artisan launches a new investment round of 1.5 million euros to accelerate its ambitious development plan, in which Primo Ventures participates with an investment of 750 thousand euros, in search of additional investors particularly in the entrepreneurial and productive field of Made in Italy. The focus will be on expanding the network of manufacturers, extending product categories and expanding to new international customers. This operation is part of a context of continuous growth of the fashion sector, which continues to be a fundamental pillar for Made in Italy exports. Italian Artisan’s platform facilitates Italian production, making it accessible and reliable also at an international level, eliminating inefficiencies and creating a transparent, efficient and competitive ecosystem. The company promotes a responsible supply chain, through a system that rewards and incentivizes ethical and sustainable production.

Development in the Mezzogiorno

A further distinctive aspect of Italian Artisan is its strong commitment to Southern Italy. With its headquarters in Abruzzo and a well-established team in the centre-south, the company aims in 2024 to significantly increase the presence of artisans in the southern regions, with over 500 affiliated artisans. In parallel, Italian Artisan is planning a significant expansion of the team in the southern regions, with the aim of having staff from the south represent 80% of the total headcount. This plan reinforces Italian Artisan’s commitment to sustainable growth and concrete support for the productive fabric of Southern Italy. David Clementoni, co-founder and chairman of Italian Artisan commented in a statement: “It is with great satisfaction that we announce the acquisition of Ad Hoc Atelier, a key step in promoting the Italian manufacturing tradition. This union, born from a shared vision, strengthens our international presence and marks a step forward in preserving Italian craftsmanship while maintaining our commitment to quality, integrity and cooperation.” “We are excited to renew our support for Italian Artisan given the attractiveness that Made in Italy continues to demonstrate on the global market and the promising growth opportunities that continue to arise, especially in the vibrant context of the South. We are confident that the strategic merger with Ad Hoc Atelier will give impetus to the strategic development of Italian Artisan, opening new horizons and consolidating their presence in the fashion and luxury sector. We are looking for allies to strengthen Made in Italy in the world”, adds Gianluca Dettori, chairman and general partner of Primo Ventures. Lorenzo Colucci, co-founder of Ad Hoc Atelier concludes: “The acquisition by Italian Artisan marks an exciting new chapter for us. This combination amplifies our offering, merging our expertise in customizing and managing luxury clients with Italian Artisan’s global reach.
