Fashiontech, here is the suit to make tailor-made suits

It only takes three minutes to take the measurements for your dress with the utmost precision. Without having to go out and go to the store, but from home: just put on a tracksuit and download an app. This is what Proke promises, a service to create perfect garments from a distance.

Proke, a crasis of process bespoke (made-to-measure process) was born during the pandemic when Roberta Ostellari, 71, a seamstress and pattern maker, came up against the impossibility of creating her made-to-measure garments. He asked his daughter Paola Griggio, 47-year-old engineer and entrepreneur, to find a solution. And so Griggio, with a degree in Telecommunications Engineering, a PhD in Photonics from the University of Padua and a long experience in medical technology (she has developed more than 20 patents), accepted the “challenge” launched by her mother.

“With a multidisciplinary team, we began to work on finding a solution that would be useful for customers and companies,” Griggio explains in a statement. It was a long process, but we came up with a wearable meter: a lycra suit equipped with sensors that met all our expectations. The wearable meter, the Proke Suit, which can be sent to the customer’s home, as kept in the store or in the company: in three minutes it collects the measurements of the person who wears it, creating a perfectly matching avatar. Each and every one of us has our own physical characteristics and peculiarities, we are in fact ‘unique pieces’. And it is precisely this uniqueness, also made up of our imperfections, that is the final response returned by Proke’s measurements. A technology totally made in Italy, easily exportable on a large scale and in the world: with Proke anyone can receive a perfect garment made in our country. A solution, which we have already patented in the European Union and the USA, is highly sustainable: we are already in contact with many companies in the sector.”

Proke’s suit for taking measurements

Proke allows customers to have a made-to-measure or personalized garment made, of any type, from ski suits to tuxedos, without having to leave their home. For stores, both physical and online, on the other hand, Proke eliminates the errors that can be made in manual measurement, consequently reducing finishing work and any returns, with a careful look, therefore, at environmental sustainability. And that’s not all: thanks to the detection carried out through the wearable meter, customers can be reached at a distance from your store, avoiding long journeys. The precision guaranteed by Proke technology therefore allows an optimization of production efficiency, both at the production and development level, allowing to design garments in a repeatable way, with fewer prototypes and errors. By reducing the number of garments discarded or to be remade, Proke contributes to a more virtuous use of materials and resources. Proke thus enables an objective and error-free measurement process, totally independent of the person performing the measurement, ensuring maximum precision. Once you receive the meter, which remains the property of the customer and can therefore be reused, or worn in the store, just follow the instructions that appear on your smartphone: measurements and photos will be automatically detected and saved by the application. By clicking directly from the app, you can export the data, measurements and photos taken, which will be sent to the manufacturer, retailer or brand.
