Energy Dome, Cellply and Caracol join the EIC Scaling Club

Three Italian companies have joined the Scaling Club of the European Innovation Council (EIC), which aims to turn 20 per cent of its members into unicorns. The Scaling Club of the European Innovation Council (EIC) is a community of around 120 European deeptech scale-ups that show the most promise. In total, 72 new companies were enrolled in the Club and announced at the Scale 100 Forum, a community event held recently in Athens.

The three Italian companies are: Energy Dome (batteries & energy storage) creates a proprietary long-life energy storage solution, offering it both as an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) product and as a storage as a service model. Cellply (biotech) develops advanced analytical equipment for life sciences to help discover, develop and quality-assure cancer cell therapies and immunotherapies. Caracol (additive manufacturing) specialises in innovative additive manufacturing technologies, integrating hardware and software to efficiently produce large-scale components for sectors such as aerospace and energy.

The EIC Scaling Club will assist selected deeptech scale-ups with fundraising support, mentoring and leadership coaching, corporate partnership identification and matchmaking, media visibility, recruitment and much more. The Club aims to accelerate the growth of all its members, with the goal of turning 20% of them into unicorns.

“Our EIC Scaling Club is proud to support a diverse group of 120 companies, actively operating in ten major deep tech markets and collectively raising more than EUR 3.4 billion to date. With the support of more than 400 dedicated club members, these companies are well positioned to tackle the major global challenges within their respective sectors and I have no doubt that they will continue to grow and realise their full potential,’ Teresa Cunha, head of the EIC Scaling Club, said in a note.

The selected companies were assessed by the EIC Scaling Club jury, composed of investors and industry experts who evaluated each participant’s business idea, its scalability and the team behind it.
