Akuis, a startup that develops technological products for the fitness and rehabilitation sector, announces that it has closed a €1.15 million funding round, supported by angel investors, institutional investors such asthe Azimut Eltif – venture capital fund ALIcrowd III, the new strategic partner Wemoove, a company operating in the world of rehabilitation and fitness in Austria and Germany, and the X-Equity club deal. Support also from numerous investors, testifying to the trust placed in the project. The company led by aerospace engineer Alessandro Englaro and designer Mattiarmando Chiavegato, which in May 2021 had obtained a seed round of one million euros, was guided and supported in the entire round preparation process by the FNDX team with Fabio Nalucci, Mario Karaboja and Michele Bianchini. The funds raised through the equity crowdfunding campaign on Mamacrowd will be invested by Akuis to consolidate its presence in countries such as Spain and the Netherlands, expand the offer in market segments that are still off the beaten track such as Eastern European countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary) and Asia, and obtain the necessary certifications for the United States market and for the medical world. But above all to launch new products on the market and industrialize and expand the offer by reaching new market segments. In addition, 20% of the funds raised will be allocated to the continuous improvement of the products and services offered by Akuis, both hardware and software. “We are extremely pleased to have closed such an important round, assisted by the support of small and large investors who have placed great trust in our project. Akuis is positioned among the players in smart fitness and Sintesi, the product that is establishing it in the wellness sector, is a connected and design robotic digital machine, perfect for personal training studios and beauty centers looking for a technologically high positioning, or for physiotherapy studios that combine high expertise and cutting-edge technologies to help the perfect rehabilitation of patients. The startup, which has a team of 14 specialists, has sold over 600 Syntheses worldwide to date with an average annual growth rate of 65% since 2020, focused on B2B, with both a direct and distributor sales model. Akuis showed steady and sustainable financial growth, closing 2023 with €1.7 million in turnover, marking a 25% increase compared to 2022, 50% of which came from foreign markets. “Since 2018, we have seen strong global appreciation in the fitness and rehabilitation industry.
