Drype, here is the cocktail that reduces the environmental impact

Drype produces and sells soluble alcoholic cocktails that simplify the logistics chain of the bar industry, reducing its environmental impact. In fact, by minimizing unnecessary weights and volumes such as packaging and water used for the dilution of liqueurs and spirits, Drype is able to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 82%. The Drype project was born in 2021 after a period of research and analysis of the beverage industry within an entrepreneurial path of the Alta Scuola Politecnica, a path of excellence of the Politecnico di Milano and the Politecnico di Torino. Thanks to a business model focused on sustainability and innovation, Drype has subsequently participated in prestigious acceleration paths including Joule, promoted by Eni, and B4i of Bocconi University and S2P by Polihub. Drype has also won many awards, the latest obtained by the Immediate accelerator on the occasion of the Tech Chill Milano Fifty Founders Battle. Drype offers a cocktail experience simple and unprecedented: for the first time, for the preparation of a cocktail, it will be sufficient to pour Drype into a glass of water and ice to have a drink of excellent quality in a few moments. You don’t need to be an expert bartender to prepare Drype and for this reason it is interesting for all those businesses that are having difficulty finding qualified and experienced staff for the preparation of signature cocktails. With Drype cocktails, cocktail service, storage, transport and waste management of alcoholic beverages are significantly facilitated, resulting in an optimal solution for accommodation facilities, catering, restaurants, airlines and the nautical sector.

Sustainable cocktails

“With Drype, we have set ourselves the goal of creating an innovative product capable of revolutionizing a notoriously traditional and static sector such as spirits. Over the centuries, liqueurs and spirits have maintained an almost unchanged stability, and only in recent years have new formats developed, such as ready-to-drink and drink on tap, aimed at simplifying the preparation and serving of cocktails,” Thomas Bottalico, chief product officer and co-founder of the startup together with Lucia Marrocco and Massimo Pierdomenico, tells Startupbusiness. With Drype, we have shown that it is possible to significantly reduce the environmental impact of spirit drink logistics without compromising the taste or experience of a completely innovative cocktail. Our mission is to combine excellence of taste with ecological sensitivity, offering a sustainable alternative in a sector that is embracing the challenge of innovation.” Drype’s menu features only signature cocktails, created to offer a new flavor experience. The Clover is a cocktail based on Gin compound with hibiscus flowers, an infusion of roasted cocoa beans and a raspberry cordial. The Blue Train is a cocktail made with Gin compound and an orange liqueur. Finally, there is the Mule, a cocktail made with ginger, lime, mint and an infusion of oak bark. At the moment Drype is working on many other signature recipes that will be released in the coming months and is at the same time developing new recipes in collaboration with some spirits brands. Even before launching the product on the market, Drype had pre-sold 20% of the first production to hospitality businesses, such as catering and guest houses, which highlights the great interest in these innovative and sustainable cocktails. With the beginning of spring and summer, tests and market validations will follow with hotels located in summer tourist resorts and with all agencies that organize boat tours or outdoor activities. Once these first market tests have been carried out and significant traction has been gathered, Drype will open its first investment round pre-seed.
