Digital Design Days 2024, keyword Renaissance

Some people remember them, many had participated in them, and now they are back in full form-the Digital Design Days (DDD), the international event dedicated to digital design innovation and digital applied design in its different forms. DDDs experienced their most extensive editions in Milan in 2018, in Geneva in 2019, and in virtual form, entirely online in 2020 due to the pandemic. As with many activities that rely on live events with an international scope, the pandemic period represented a watershed that the organizers of Digital Design Days declined into a period of reflection that allowed them to bring back the event that will take place in its new edition in Milan on October 6,7 and 8, 2024.

The 2024 edition of DDDs takes place at Superstudio Più in Milan’s design district, and is set to be a unique experience for creative professionals, entrepreneurs, and technology enthusiasts from around the world. Following the success of previous editions in Milan and Geneva, which attracted more than 10 thousand participants from 126 countries in attendance, and more than 226 thousand online in 2020, the 2024 event promises to be even more impactful. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in talks, workshops and masterclasses, networking sessions, with some of the most influential figures in the digital design industry.

This year’s event will gather at least three thousand guests, including designers, developers, entrepreneurs, freelancers, brand managers, investors and marketers, all looking for inspiration, discovering and launching new tools and services, selecting the best talent for new digital profiles, training and business expansion opportunities by activating new partnerships and business opportunities.

Two stages will host more than 60 speakers, including international players in digital design from companies and agencies such as 2Advanced, Locomotive, The Fabricant, Ouchhh, Territory Studio, Spotify, Elastic, Ard Thanea, Fantasy, Rare Volume, and Mastercard.

Speakers include Cathy Hackl, a noted futurist and expert in space computing and mixed reality; this is a unique presence at an event in Italy where the speaker, considered by Thinkers50 to be among the world’s ten most influential women in relation to innovative technologies in the metaverse and web3, is coming for the first time; Adriana Pereira and Kerry Murphy co-founders of The Fabricant which is known to be 100% digital fashion company; and Raffaella Camera, former head of brand at Epic Games and a leading figure in immersive technologies.

The event also includes intensive workshops and masterclasses, creative installations by international digital artists, vertical panel discussions on the topics of AI and the world of luxury and digital fashion, exhibition area and testing of the most innovative technologies such as for example Apple Vision Pro, and numerous networking opportunities. A highlight will be an extraordinary live performance by Ouchhh, a cognitive painting sculpture of real-time EEG AI data. This innovative AI Data Art piece showcases the collaboration between human brain activity and artificial intelligence.

Founded in 2016 and curated by designer Filippo Spiezia, the new and eighth edition of Digital Design Days, has the theme ‘Renaissance’ and aims to elevate the art of digital storytelling and inspire business growth through innovative design. “In an increasingly digital world, the ability to tell engaging stories through design and technology is more important than ever. At Digital Design Days, we bring together the best minds in the industry to share their knowledge and inspire the next generation of innovators. The large participation of brands, marketers and companies from every industry, as well as creative and digital designers and agencies, demonstrates how enormously important and strategic this sector has become, offering extraordinary opportunities to emerge, innovate and reinvent.”

This year’s event wants to pay special attention to the most current and in-demand topics, such as artificial intelligence (AI), metaverse, NFT, spatial computing and blockchain, which is why Spiezia has enlisted the assistance of expert Sara Noggler, innovative marketing strategist with a focus on Web 3.0, in curating the program.

“The community that has built up around Digital Design Days over the years plays a key role in the revitalization of the event; it is from it that the energy comes that has driven us to work to bring the event back to top form, and it is from it that the best ideas, the great participation, come. An international community that converges in Milan where design is intrinsic to the city’s DNA and brings all its energy to the event along with that of the speakers and all the partners who believe in the importance of the project that is, in fact, the leading global event dedicated to design and digital.”
