Cyber Guru, 23 million euro funding round

Cyber Guru, a security awareness training platform, announces that it has finalised a Series B funding round with a EUR 23 million raise; among the investors: Riverside Acceleration Capital, a growth equity investment firm specialising in working with BtoB software companies to transition from the initial scale-up phase to rapid acceleration, led the round with the participation of Educapital, a European investment fund focused on edtech and the future of work; Adara Ventures and P101 Ventures were also confirmed as participants.

The investment will help support Cyber Guru’s growth, accelerating its international expansion roadmap and go-to-market in Europe, with the aim of strengthening its market positioning in cyber security awareness training, now driven by artificial intelligence, and strengthened by its recent accreditation as a recognised partner to accompany the digitisation of the Public Administration, the first Italian to be accredited by the National Cybersecurity Agency for training in security awareness for the entire organisation.

The more than 700 customers of Cyber Guru, which was established in 2017, benefit from a comprehensive platform that can change employee behaviour, manage human risk and achieve compliance with minimal resources. Today, more than one million active users in more than 90 countries are continuously trained by the platform’s automated training paths, based on advanced learning methodologies and powered by a proprietary artificial intelligence-driven machine learning model.

“Having obtained this investment from Riverside and Educapital, together with the continued support of Adara and P101, represents a fundamental step in our path to scale internationally. Our mission is to improve organisations’ resilience to cyber attacks by transforming user behaviour,’ says Gianni Baroni, CEO and founder of Cyber Guru, in a note. (pictured with the team) – Thanks to our proprietary Machine Learning model and the use of the most advanced adult learning methodologies, we have built a comprehensive and effective Security Awareness training platform capable of managing and reducing human risk, and we are now ready to take this vision worldwide.”

“We see tremendous value in Cyber Guru’s innovative approach to cybersecurity awareness, particularly in its ability to achieve industry-leading levels of engagement through AI-driven automation and adaptive learning. The company’s focus on behavioural science and its unique machine learning model make it stand out in the market. Our investment reflects our confidence in their ability to become European leaders in helping organisations achieve compliance and strengthen people’s security posture. We are excited to support Cyber Guru in scaling its business and accelerating its research and development efforts,” comments Christian Stein, partner at Riverside Acceleration Capital.

“Gathering the experience of our clients, we were impressed by Cyber Guru’s effectiveness in mitigating human risk and its ability to adapt to users’ training needs. We are proud to support Gianni and his team in their international expansion,” concludes Jonathan Denais, investment director at Educapital.
