Cosmico buys 55% of Flatmates

Cosmico, a startup that aims to connect the best talents in the digital world and the companies that bought Bioss in February 2024 and closed a 4 million euro round a month later, announces that it has acquired the majority, equal to 55%, of Flatmates, an influencer marketing and editorial content agency founded by Marcello Ascani and Gummy Industries.

The operation, which has a total value of more than 2 million euros and which sees the founders of Flatmates become partners of Cosmico intends to strengthen the company’s capabilities to offer any company the best talent on the market by expanding the model in the marketing and communication segment, and close 2024 with a forecast of over 10 million euros in turnover at Group level. Founded in 2020 by the will of Francesco Marino, CEO and co-founder together with Matteo Roversi and Simone Tornabene, Cosmico has seen significant growth in four years: from 0.5 million euros in turnover in 2020 to 4.5 million euros in 2023, after recently closing a new round of 4 million euros, it now has about 100 customers and a community of over 20 thousand professionals in the design, coding, marketing & communication, data & AI, cybersecurity and was assisted in the deal by Growth Capital and Portolano Cavallo.

Marcello Ascani and Michele Pagani remain partners of Flatmates, also maintaining their managerial roles. The Ascani-based company, founded in 2021, achieved revenues of 3 million euros in 2023 with a forecast of closing the year with a turnover of 4 million euros.

Francesco Marino, CEO of Cosmico, explains in a note: “Flatmates was born by applying the same principles to the world of communication and content production that gave life to our service. The Flatmates model, in fact, has a lot in common with ours and has the goal of wanting to rethink the future of work with a model that is unique in Italy today, selecting the right creative talent for the right media activity for the right customer. With this acquisition, Cosmico strengthens its ability to offer talent in the marketing and communication vertical, which today accounts for about 30% of turnover.”
