Cosmico, a startup created to connect the best talents in the digital world and companies, opens 2024 with clear growth and announces the acquisition of Bioss, the center of technological excellence focused on digital transformation. The goal for 2024 is to strengthen the community of professionals in the cybersecurity and AI segments. Founded in 2020 by Francesco Marino, Matteo Roversi and Simone Tornabene, Cosmico has entered the market by bringing a new philosophy, that of talent-as-a-service, to the world of independent work. Over the years, companies, startups, large consulting firms and agencies have relied on Cosmico to collaborate with the best digital talents in the fields of coding, design, marketing, cybersecurity, data and artificial intelligence, now reaching a community of over 16 thousand professionals and a turnover that has gone from 2.2 million euros in 2022 to 4.3 million euros in 2023 at group level, achieving its goal of more than 100% growth for the third year in a row since its establishment. A community that grows and learns through the connection between talents who can access co-working, co-living and training experiences around the world. Over the years, the Cosmico community has been able to respond to the need of companies and organizations to rely on sectoral professionals for more or less complex projects, opening up the possibility for freelancers and independent professionals to sell their services, supporting, over time, more than 80 large corporations, scaleups, tech consultancies and digital agencies of the calibre of Tangity, Sketchin, Fjord, Capgemini, Huawei, Dude, AKQA, Alkemy, Scalapay, Publicis Sapient, Ogilvy, Hibo.
Acquisition strategy
With the acquisition of Bioss, Cosmico chooses to accelerate growth by resorting to a merging and acquisition strategy and is already working on a second transaction that will be completed by the end of the year. Francesco Marino, CEO and co-founder of Cosmico comments in a note: “Cosmico was created to connect organizations with the talent they need to grow. That’s why in 2024 we will focus on cybersecurity and data & AI talent: these are the two sectors where the demand for talent is very high and organizations will struggle the most in the coming years.” Simone Tornabene, CMO and co-founder adds: “With this acquisition, Cosmico continues to execute its growth strategy, we have managed to secure a doubling of turnover every year and the acquisition of Bioss marks a new moment from which M&A becomes an important tool of this growth strategy. Bioss will not be an isolated case and we aim to build the European talent hub.” The transaction was managed with the support of Growth Capital, Studio Portolano Cavallo and Studio Zangara.
