BizAway and Green Future Project together for the environment

BizAway, which innovates in business travel, announces a new partnership with Green Future Project, a benefit company, B-Corp and RinaI certified digital partner, specialising in supporting companies in the decarbonisation process through a single platform.

Research by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation shows that tourism contributes approximately 5% of all energy-related CO2e emissions, with transport being one of the main causes. BizAway, already focused on sustainability and the first TMC dedicated to business travel worldwide to become B-Corp, i.e. a company certified by B Lab as being strongly committed to environmental and social issues, has partnered with Green Future Project with the aim of offsetting CO2e from travel through the purchase of certified carbon credits.

The process is simple: after calculating CO2 emissions, companies can select their preferred certified project and finance it by purchasing carbon credits, tradable certificates that represent the right to emit one tonne of carbon dioxide or the equivalent amount of a different greenhouse gas. Green Future Project selects certified projects from Verra and provides the option of obtaining a withdrawal certificate attesting that offsetting has taken place.

“As a B-Corp, sustainability is very important to us. Our goal is to provide companies with practical tools to reduce the environmental impact of their operations,’ says Luca Carlucci, CEO of BizAway, in a note. This partnership with the Green Future Project not only helps companies offset their carbon emissions, but also contributes to projects that protect and restore biodiversity’.

For BizAway, caring for the environment and sustainability are paramount and it is committed to promoting initiatives that combat pollution. BizAway has integrated an automatic CO2e compensation system on its platform that allows the amount of CO2 produced by bookings to be calculated and the monetary compensation needed to contribute to the natural absorption of the pollution produced. For every 10 cents donated, a mangrove can be planted. In the continuation of this commitment, BizAway has also chosen to partner with the Green Future Project in order to offer companies an additional possibility to fight pollution.

“Thanks to technology, companies can now effectively invest in the restoration and conservation of natural capital,’ comments Briano Martinoni Caleppio, co-founder and CCO of Green Future Project. Sustainability implies responsibility and the extractive economic model, which has been used until now, is gradually being replaced by an increasingly regenerative one’. (photo: BizAway)
