Angels for Women, an Italian business angel association composed mainly of women and focused on innovative female entrepreneurship, announces new additions to its operational team and governance.
Annamaria Tartaglia (in the opening photo) is appointed executive director and will be dedicated to strengthening and expanding the Angels for Women partner network, taking care of its external relations. A marketing and communications graduate with two EMBAs (leadership, IMD Lausanne; art and cultural heritage management), Tartaglia gained experience in international advertising agencies and later in the world of fashion, lifestyle and luxury. He has held senior positions as global marketing and communications director for Trussardi and Ferragamo, as well as chief marketing, brand and communications officer for Superga and Value Retail. She is currently CEO of TheBrandSitter, a spoke factory dedicated to the strategic development of high-end brands, is co-founder of Angels for Women and holds the roles of Chair of Women’s Entrepreneurship and Finance for the W20 (G20) and Co-chair for the W7 (G7), civil interest groups engaged in the elaboration of policy proposals on gender equality, entrepreneurship and empowerment.
Federica Danioni assumes the role of managing director and chair of the screening committee, succeeding Stefania Quaini, who has held this position since 2022, and will serve on the association’s board of directors. With extensive experience in business management, sales, event organisation and consulting, Danioni is currently vice-president of Sheehan Brothers Corp, where he manages customer relations in the US and Italian wine suppliers, as well as overseeing new projects in the spirits industry and e-commerce activities. In the past, she held roles as sales manager and office manager, acquiring skills in event organisation, showroom management and customer service. Active in angel investing and mentoring, Danioni is already a member of Angels for Women and Angels4Impact, where she invests and supports start-ups in their growth path.
Tartaglia and Danioni will work to further strengthen and grow the Network, consolidating its presence and enhancing its role in the innovation ecosystem, both in Italy and internationally.
Stefania Quaini, outgoing managing director, will take on the role of chair of the scientific committee. In this new role, Quaini will dedicate herself to relaunching the committee by organising in-depth meetings and dialogue aimed at members and others, such as webinars and conferences, promoting the sharing and discussion of topics related to women’s leadership.
Following the new appointments, the Angels4Women board of directors will be composed as follows: president Chiara Soldano, CEO of AXA Italia; vice-president Marco Nannini, CEO of Impact Hub Società Benefit; councillors Giorgia Freddi, head of external communication, sustainability and public affairs, AXA Italia; Annamaria Tartaglia, executive director of A4W and CEO TheBrandSitter; Federica Danioni, managing director of A4W and vice-president of Sheehan Brothers Corp; Lorenza Morandini, adjunct professor and board member; and Donata Cappelli, accountant and financial advisor.
“After years of involvement in A4W as co-founder and board member, I am honoured to take on the role of executive director. This new position represents a valuable opportunity to collaborate with Federica Danioni, A4W’s new managing director, and Stefania Quaini, in her new role as president of the scientific committee, in the strengthening and growth of the association, with a special focus on the development of new partnerships and the expansion of the network of members, promoting a path increasingly oriented towards internationalisation,’ says Tartaglia.
“I am happy and honoured to take on the role of managing director to develop the A4W association. It is a privilege to be able to contribute to an organisation with such an ambitious mission: to support female entrepreneurship through investing in women-led start-ups. Over the years, A4W has been able to bring together a community of professionals and experts of the highest level, which we aim to grow in the future. Congratulations to those who have made this possible so far,’ adds Danioni.
“Working in pursuit of a good cause has always been a fundamental and necessary condition for me. When I accepted the role of managing director at A4W I was mistakenly convinced it was only a matter of form, instead we had to focus also and above all on substance realising that the support and growth of female-led start-ups is still too timid, in Italy as in many European countries. It has been an honour to be able to deal. on a daily basis with female entrepreneurs and investors who tenaciously make their contribution to the world of innovation, and I count on continuing to do so in this new capacity as chairman of the scientific committee. I wish Annamaria and Federica all the best as they guide A4W into a new era,’ says Quaini.
“I would like to thank Stefania Quaini for the competence and passion with which she has led Angels for Women over the years, and I enthusiastically welcome Annamaria Tartaglia and Federica Danioni, wishing them both good work. I am sure that thanks to their experience in the world of angel investing, the Association will continue to grow and support women who wish to embrace the world of entrepreneurship and innovation, contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive future,” Soldano emphasises.
“We are very happy to welcome Federica Danioni and thank Annamaria Tartaglia and Stefania Quaini for their new responsibilities and roles. We are confident that this new team will be able to further develop this fantastic adventure of which we are honoured to be co-promoters together with AXA. Impact Hub SB continues to invest in the development of impact investing and female entrepreneurship through numerous initiatives,’ concludes Nannini.
Angels for Women has over 70 members and associates, 16 investments in five different sectors, a valuable deal flow and active partnerships with some of the most influential players in the Italian innovation ecosystem.
