Palella Holdings, the family office headed by Salvatore Palella, is the new owner of Everli, acquiring the entirety of its capital through a capital increase of 21 million euros. The transaction aims to define Everli’s relaunch strategy also through synergies and collaboration with large-scale retail groups. Everli was founded in 2014, initially called Supermercato24, today it employs over 200 people, has agreements with about seventy partners and delivers groceries by leveraging a network of about two thousand operators, the so-called shoppers. Everli’s relaunch plan aims to ensure the profitability of the platform on the Italian market and then support its expansion into other European markets.
The trade union agreement
As part of the relaunch of activities, the announcement of the agreement signed by Assogrocery, the association that represents companies operating in the online shopping and delivery of food and household items (e-grocery) to which Everli adheres, of the signing of a National Collective Agreement with the trade unions NIDIL-CGIL, FELSA-CISL and UILTEMP-UIL together with workers’ representatives, to regulate the e-grocery sector, through specific provisions regarding the remuneration and regulatory framework reserved for workers. The signing comes after more than 8 months of work, during which the parties discussed the specific tools and appropriate levels of protection for shoppers, including a minimum compensation per assignment, bonuses and increases (for example, in the case of activities carried out during Sundays and holidays), mileage reimbursements and availability allowances. In addition, the agreement includes specific legislation aimed at increasing the levels of transparency of the digital platform, avoiding any possible discrimination, ensuring adequate levels of safety at work and the appropriate protections in the event of illness, accident and maternity. Everli, a member of Assogrocery and the main marketplace for online shopping with a team of 200 people and 4 million orders delivered, has already given full availability to new meetings with unions and shopper representatives to discuss all possible further improvements to the minimum protections provided for by the national agreement.
