Margot Olifson is the new country manager of Ebay in Italy. Olifson joins the management of Ebay’s business in Italy after a career of growth within the company, she joined Ebay at the London office and then worked in those of Zurich and currently Milan.
Prior to his current position as country manager, he served as COO (chief operating officer); She was responsible for several years of the private sellers’ business, dealing with the definition of Ebay’s strategy and positioning in the second-hand and circular economy for the Italian market. He has also worked in marketing, pricing and business development, thus obtaining a 360-degree view of the dynamics and levers that govern a marketplace.
During her 12 years at Ebay, Margot Olifson has shown leadership skills, an in-depth knowledge of the market and the world of e-commerce and a great commitment to women’s empowerment: she is also the leader in Italy of Women@eBay, an internal program created to offer all women opportunities for personal and professional growth, thus fostering a more inclusive and sustainable environment.
The role of women
Olifson commented on the new assignment in a note: “In this new responsibility of mine, continuing to expand the community of people and businesses present on Ebay and strengthening our positioning as a marketplace of passions are some of the objectives to be consolidated by leveraging our values and uniqueness in the market. At the same time, we reaffirm our commitment to empowering people and increasing initiatives in favor of DE&I (diversity, equity, inclusion, ed.)”.
In addition to her position as country manager, Margot Olifson has also taken on the role of member of the board of directors of Certilogo, a company acquired by the Ebay Group in 2023 specializing in the digitization and authentication of fashion and luxury products.
